Just got a new Animal Plastics 7 foot cage...Question

ryjspahr Feb 06, 2005 02:05 PM

Hey, I just ordered my new 7 foot animal plastics cage, should be here in the next 4-5 weeks.... In the meantime, I need to decide on a thermostat and a bedding substrate, any recommendations? The cage I got is 84" x 30" x 18" with vents, door locks, and undertank heating... I can't wait for it to get here!

Thanks all,
Ryan

I also use animal plastic cages, they work great and look great. I have four 72"x30"x18" cages myself. The substrate I use which is problem free is plain old packing paper, just go to home depot and pick up their heavy packing paper(come in huge rolls). This way rather then using loads of newspaper I can cut the paper to perfect size and remove it as one piece. As for the thermostat I can't really give recomendations because I made the mistake of not ordering UTH with my cages. I believe any type will work fine as long as it has what regulations you need. Maybe someone else can pitch in here and help with that one. Hope you enjoy the AP cage as much as I do.
