wild caught snake in the middle of winter!?!?

Bish Feb 06, 2005 07:21 PM

Hey everyone, long time no type. Anyways I was walking outside in the woods yesterday, it is about 45-49 degrees outside, and I see a garter snake. At first I think it is dead because it is sitting on top of a hugh snow pile completely flat. I was going to go pick it up and give it a proper burial. When I picked it up I relized it was alive, but very close to death.(I think it may be the same snake I have seen very often around my house.)I run to my house with it, and get out my aquarium. I put it in the sun inside the aquarium and cover the top of the aquarium with blankets so it will heat up faster! It is alive and doing well, I am probably going to release it on a warm day later on in the winter, or release it in early spring. Anyone else ever had this experience too?
