Breeding Question!

knowzilla Feb 06, 2005 09:07 PM

What kind of body language should I expect to see from my pair of dragons during courtship? Last year I didn't get a chance to observe any breeding behaviour. So far my male (a hypoOrange X ChrisAllenRed) has been doing the normal beard turning black and head bobbing as well as tail swishing, and the female (a Citrus) has been bowing and keeping rather low to the ground around the male. How long should I leave them together for mating to take place?, and should I change females based on the females body language towards the male? Also the female is 515g and 19" long and the male is 411g and 18" long.

sounds like normal courtship behavior. As long as there isn't aggressiveness, they can be left alone till the deed it done. Mating typically only lasts a few seconds.
