WASHINGTON- President Bushs's budget will slash grants to local law enforcement agencies, and cut spending for environmental protection, home heating for the poor and American Indian Schools, The Associated Press learned Saturday.
Bush has said that his budget will assemble federal resources for WAR, domestic security and priorities ,and would cull inefficient or redundant programs.
According to figures obtained by AP,Bush would slice $600
million grant programs for local police agencies to $60 million next year
Grants to local firefighters(remember their crucial role during 9-11) which congress provided $715 million this year, would be cut to $500 million.
The Environmental Protection Agencies $8.1 billion would drop to $450 MILLION or about 6 percent.
The $2.2 billion program that provided low-income people...in large part the elderly.....with home heating aid would be cut to $2 billion. Sen. Charles Schumer- D-N.Y. said the reduction would be "wrong-headed and inappropriate" especially with this seasons jump in oil prices.
So...local law enforcement is drastically cut back. But isnt that part of homeland security?
Home heating for the ELDERLY cut? So they get to choose between their food or their electricity or their rent.
It is hard to believe that the American Public, or rather 51% of the American Public voted this moron into office. With Draconian cuts in law enforcement, local firefighters(Good thing he didnt cut that before 9-11 eh?) and old peoples heating subsidy, as well as FARMERS subsidies all the way to Medicaid and health programs for the poor and disabled.
When will they ever learn?
Social Security overhauled?
The War in Iraq AND Afghanistan?
And we cut elderly peoples HEATING subsidy.
Somebody....get a rope.....
