I am new to this forum and the hobby, so I hope I don't sound to elementary. I have an JV black throat that is about 12 in long. He has been eating well and has been active. I have him in a 40 gal tank for now. The heat is produced by a halogen bulb that putts out 150 degrees in the basking area and the cool end is 75-80. I use natural dirt and he has a water bowl. He also has two hidding spots and a branch he likes to crawl on and cool off. Now with all that, Is it time I build a bigger enclosure? I have plans for an enclosure that measure 8ft long x 4.5ft high x 4ft deep. I also was maybe planning to dedicate a small room for him. I didn't how hard it would be to maintain heat and humidity in a room. That's a lot of info, but I have lots of questions. Thanks.
