Updated pics of a couple bolivian amarali...silverbacks through orange crush

Philip Niforatos Feb 07, 2005 03:36 PM

It's been a little while since I've taken any pics of some of the smaller animals...they're growing so fast.
Here are a few of my better pics from the quick session.
Terry line silverback...produced by Barry Miller

Terry line silverback...parents produced by Mark Bell

This girl is just insane in person...tons of colors. Way to go Barry!!

here's one I held back from last years litter

And the Orange Crush couple..

And here's a pic of a pair of my adults that have been going at it since thanksgiving time...she's got a nice swell that's been progressing over the last week, hopefully she'll ovulate for me

I'll try and get some pics of my other adults in the next couple of days...although they'd probably rather not be interupted

Philip

She passed during last years breeding trials. I believe the stresses related with breeding really did her in, because otherwise she was as healthy as they come. She passed about four days after I witnessed ovulation...I never opened her up, as I don't think I could have stomached that. She was buried under a maple tree that I planted in the spring. I was really taken back at first by her death...she was the first casualty that I have ever had.
Sorry I didn't contact you when it happened, but it wasn't something I was proud of.
Just keep in mind that something like this can happen anytime you place your animals together for breeding, so if you have that "prize" animal that you couldn't see yourself living if it were to die...I recommend not to ever breed that animal.
Anyway that's the story, I wish it were otherwise but that's not the case.
Good luck with everything,
Philip

Sorry to here about Katana Philip she did have some nice markings for a Bolivian. I know just how you feel I have lost about 7 boas in the 26 + years I have had boas. There are a few I would love to have back if I could. I hope I will see you at Lee's this spring with some baby Bolivians.

Take care,
Tom

I just have my two colorful babies right now, your pictures reminded me I need a SILVERBACK! Great examples of beautiful Amarali. I still wish I had bought that Blonde when I first asked Barry, before you bought it, lol.

You'll have to hook me up with some orange crush babies. I have a couple of Bolivians that Mark produced. He produced some killers when he was breeding them. By the way I think I owe you a breakfast in Daytona.

Derek
