Iguanas in Ecuador

cycluracornuta Feb 07, 2005 03:38 PM

There is a park in Guayaquil, Ecuador where the iguanas are so tame and accustomed to people that they will crawl up on your lap for a piece of food. To see more, cut and paste the link.

John, thanks for posting the photos. It gave me the motivation to go look at your DR photos again. Magnificent lizards, both the Cyclura and the Greens. I'm so envious of your travels.

My Rhino from your '03 clutch is doing very well, growing quickly. He/she is around 1000+ grams now and taming nicely. I still can't determine sex yet but should be able to in the next couple of months sometime.

Jane, Glad you like the pictures. I had been to the Ecuadorian Iguana park 2 years earlier, but seem to have lost all those picture during my move to NY. I would not envy the travel too much -- It is nice when I get to go to good places, but unfortunately that is not always the case. Grass always looks greener on the other side.

Wow, your 03 baby rhino is big, I was looking back through some of my records, and for that age, mine have typically been about 750 grams.
