Kristen,
Exactly! I wrote the person and let them know the animals are not HYPO nor are the others Anerythristic animals. I have produced many that look exactly like them and show the same characteristics. For those that don't know Hypomelanism is the reduction in or absence of Black Pigment and Anerythristic is the absence of Red Pigment. Both of these colors Veileds do not have. They have green, yellows and variations of those colors and not Black and or Red. Sometimes the green can be very dark and appear black but it is not. Hell according the true definitions of the hypo and Anery genes ALL Veileds are Hypo and Anery. I guess this person really has no idea to what the terms mean and would just like to hit pay dirt. (wouldn't we all).

I was thinking the same thing. Fifty-thousand, that's a BMW, or a nice down-payment on a big house. That chameleon better lay golden eggs or something. Also I'm not too up on the genetics of HYPO(the absence of black pigment) and I don't have a clue what Anerythristic is, but are you guaranteed these color morphs in a clutch, or is just the possibility there. You could go breeding these chameleons and never see a pigmentless chameleon. I'm not even sure why you'd want one. I love the colors my chameleons get, especially when they are out in the sun showing off or are pissed off. Just my opinion though
Kristen-
Well I don't see any veiled chameleon being worth $50,000, I don't care what it looks like. This guy is off his rocker.LMAO! Have you seen the million dollar lizard at www.reptilehavenonline.com talk about crazy! I am sorry but how is a baby veiled going to cost $50,000 when a Parson is only $2,500. I just don't get it!

Hello,
I have personally seen these animals myself. Weather or not the term hypo is an accurate description of the colors, I don't really know. Maybe Axanthic would be a better choice since they show no yellow or orange colors. I myself have produced thousands of Veilds and the party that has them produces thousands each year. And nether of us have ever seen any like this. As far as the price goes it is the same as the million dollar lizard referenced earlier. (IF IT SELLS FOR THAT PRICE THEN IT IS FOR SALE! IF NOT THEN I'LL JUST KEEP IT) Lots of people use those prices for animals that they don't really care if they sell or not.
