Who uses temp guns???????

jakeleolizard Feb 07, 2005 06:21 PM

Just wondering as to what sort of readings you get in various areas of the tank. I get 110 in just a couple places... on a branch and small part of netting under MV light. There are quite a few places that are 100 degrees on the warm side... and in the shade on the warm side it is 85-90...

Then on the cool side it is as low as 80 degrees. I know the the variance of temps is good, but are they the right varients? See what I mean?

I get many readings also, but your cool side should be high 80's to 90. Basking area 100 - 105 some say 110.

I get 110 later in the day as the room heats more. Sometimes its 110 to 112 right under the light on the basking rock(I use slate) so it hold the heat.

The rest of my tanks, other than the basking area reads about 85 -89 and 90 and 93.

These are mainly 40 wides/ or 40 gallon breeder tanks.

They are pretty cool toys though I enjoy it.

I had ordered one for myself, but before it came, I received some Christmas gifts from Pethobbyist/Kingsnake.com for moderating, and one gift was a TEMP GUN, (awesome gift)

I know I'm crazy sometimes, but I like using the digital meat thermometer. It works really fast. It works better than the old thermostats. Our old room mate like to keep his room at 82 F while the rest of the house is 72-75 F
