Southern Painted Turtle with swollen jaws

I have had this turtle for nearly a year now and in the last few months I have noticed that his jaws are getting swollen. I have not changed his food or his environment. He has a UVB light and a heating lamp. Does anyone have any ideas what can be wrong with him?

If there are bulges on the sides of his head near the jaw it could be ear abscesses. You need to get him to a qualified vet to have him looked at. If this is what is wrong they need to be cleaned out by a vet.
