Brown Shade ofFire-Bellied Toads?

GreenAnoleManiac Feb 07, 2005 08:34 PM

Hey,I was just curious if all FBT's are green, because mine in peticular are brown and I've never seen them green yet, so I was wondering if there is a brown shade of FBT? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It's ok I have a brown one, and it's ok. The green ones will get darker and maybe a light brown if stressed or the water is really dirty.

the brown ones are european firebelly toads (bombina bombina)
the green ones are oriental firebelly toads (bombina orientalis)

here is a good FBT website

Yes, but a green FBT can turn a shade of brown too. MIne have doe it twice. But if it stays totally brown and never turns back green then it's more likey a european one.
