OK, need some vet help here.......

I got a local vet who is willing to help me with my snakes eye infection. However, she is not a herp vet. She has tried to help me before. She admittedly knows next to nothing about snakes, but has talked on the phone to other vets who helped her perscribe for me.

I have a female ball python who apears to have a severe eye infection. She will be weighed in the morning, but I believe she's around 2200 grams.

Are there any qualified herp vets who would be willing to help my vet out? She has been trying to learn more about snakes (bless her heart) because she knows that there is nobody around who can help those of us with herps.

Thanks.

That's awesome that your vet is working hard to help your snake. I can think of many that have the fabled phobia of snakes.

Tell your vet to check out www.vin.com (veterinary information network) It is a subscription service but I can't overstate how awesome it is. On the message boards (basically forums like this, but only vet's) there are exotic specialists just waiting to answer all your questions and help you with cases. It's also one of the best continueing education sites ever in my opinion. Also of importance to your vet would be that it is helpfull for all cases, not just reptile ones.

Good luck with your snake, if your problem is resistant to treatment don't hesitate to ask for a referall. Most vets don't have a problem with this when they are over their heads.
