Salmon overload?....

LordDreyfus Feb 08, 2005 01:05 AM

Let me start off by saying I have nothing against salmons. They are beautiful, and have a lot to offer for any breeding project. I plan on stocking up on them myself

However, its driving me crazy to see at least 75% of the boa adds being about salmons of one combination or another. Are there so many of them that their price is going to plummet or have all the snow and DH for snow boas taken the year off? I just priced a DH for snow male at $100 more than I paid for one almost 2 years ago. That DH snow I bought straight off of Peter Kahl myself..genetics 110% guarenteed. Its just odd to see prices RISE rather than fall.

I realize that its a whole lot easier to produce salmons than some of the other genetic conditions, but it still seems weired is all. Anybody else wondering about this?

Yeah theres tons of Salmons but not tons of DBL het snows ...

Also the salmon can be passed on very readily while the snow is a 1 in 16 shot i do beleive . So you breed a salmon to a normal you get many salmons

While the dbl het snow doesnt produce as many when bred to a albino or even a dbl het so the production is lower there fore the price goes up. i look at it like the BP breeding u have less chances of getting a snow from a dbl het breeding then a salmon from a salmon breeding . I am actually gladd to seethe Boa price stay high myself on certain animals lol
