I was just curious about what everybody uses as hides for their adult monitors?

i use kitty litter pans with holes cut in them, i also use boxes made out of cement mixing pans and ones i fabricate from plywood and 2x3"s. Cork bark tubes are awesome for medium sized monitors, and they are relatively cheap if you go to www.thebeanfarm.com, as well as stacked cork flats. Also if you have the substrate to sustain burrows they will redily make their own under scrap pecies of plywood or whatevers laying around. good luck and use your imagination.

I use deep dirt for them to burrow in. Sometimed I will have a piece of board burrowed very shallow that they can dig under. I put 2 cinder blocks in one of my cages to set the water on and burries them. The monitor dug the dirt out of the cinder block holes and uses them as a burrow.

These heat lamps make my electric bill to high.

I don't have an adult monitor but i have a pretty good size one, about 16 thru 18 inches. I bought a really big "cave" for him from a petstore. He loves it. I have just recently, this week, placed the same substrate drzrider uses and he's been putting his face in it when he sleeps, lol.

It aint the most attractive, but my mangrove loves hiding in a big thick beach towel. It's easy to replace when soiled and also makes catching him super easy when it's time to clean the cage. (entire towel goes into a pillow case)

wat kind of moniter? mine just goes in his burrow. to promote burrowing have deep suptrate and put a wooden board on top.
