Safe food for leos (?)

GeckGirl Jul 06, 2003 09:06 PM

Hi everyone,
Is there any fruits/veggies, etc. that are safe and healthy for leos to consume in addition to live food? Just curious... :O) Thanks!

not that i know of, but if there were it would be hard to get a leo to eat it because they are natural hunters and only really attack things that are moving (hence why they lick mealies to induce movement before eating them)

Leopard geckos are carnivors/insectivors and they aren't meant to eat plant matter by itself. They get their nutrition from the gut contents of critters who eat plant matter, but the digestive processes of their prey are essential to turning the plant matter into something beneficial to the geckos.
