Sometimes geckos prefer some hides to others. I wouldn't worry. He'll probably find it sooner or later but don't force him to go in it.

well I took his little cardboard box hide and filled it full of moss, I guess I turned his dry hide into a humid hide. Do they need a hide that isn't humid, or can all of the hides have moss?
I have 2 geckos, one is in the humid hide all the time, and the other is never in the humid hide. I'm sure she knows it's there, but just prefers to stay dry. I don't think it's a good idea to have all hides humid. They need to be able to regulate their humidity on their own. I'm sure if your gecko needed some moisture that he would go inside the humid hide. Be sure your humid hide is on the warm side of the enclosure...it can be too cold on the cool side.
