>>Hey guys, i want to build a cage for a Leucistic Texas Rat Snake (Hopefully less than 5 feet in length) Anyway, what dimensions woudl be good
For a Texas Rat I would limit the cage to a footprint of 4'x2' probably between 18" and 36" in height. A longer cage will use a lot more material.
>>and what do i need to build the vivarium?
You can build pretty much anything with a cheap circular saw, carpenter's square, straight edge w/clamps and a drill. You don't need fancy tools.
>>What type of wood is good? etc.
Oak or birch laminated plywood are popular. It's pretty much what I use.
