PLEASE DO NOT GET OFFENDED, THIS PARTICULAR HATCHLING KING WILL ONLY ACCEPT SNAKES AS PREY, NOT EVEN SCENTED PINKS.

Enjoy....

Wow, Very nice looking little guy! Love that yellow! Where (or who) is he from?
Have you tried 'brained pinkies' (along with a slight rise in temps & humidity and more privacy). That's how I got all of my baby easterns to eventually take regular pinkies. Some of them of course, took a little longer to convert, but I gave them NO choice, LOL! A couple of them just got a little hungrier after about a month and a half - but then gave in and took the 'brained' alternative. If they would have gone over 2-3 months, then I would have offered them ophidian prey.

Zee,

I emailed you about a week ago, still hoping for that pine woods snake lol.

The former owner of the snake, David Johnson from Radioactivereptiles, tried everything possible with the snake, it's siblings all took pinks, and they all got sold(I actually bought a pinky eater, but the P.O. lost my M.O. for more than 10 days so he sold it). He tried brained pinks, pinks scented with snake, snake skin over the pink, etc. Nothing worked. Well, it doesn't matter much to me that she only preys on snakes, I figure I can just keep her on them until the end of summer, and attempt to switch her then onto pinks, I always have a nice supply of feeder snakes anyways, so it doesn't bother me.

I'm sure they are not too hard to convert to unscented pinks, my amel cali hatchling will gladly take pinkies over snakes, and I always give him brained pinks(it's not needed in his case)because he will feed more readily once he smells the "brain ooze".

I'm still trying to narrow down a locale on my eastern, David explained it to me as a "non-locale eastern king", it looks like a GA to me.

Yeah, the king looks like a S.Ga animal to me as well. Collected many down there (for six years when I lived there many years ago)! I may be able to get you that Pine-woods snake this weekend. I am going herping this weekend in S.SC. I WILL E-MAIL you Sunday/Monday and let you know!
