Corn vs Rat...The Age Old Question

spangles Feb 08, 2005 08:42 PM

I'm going to re-post now that I can put up a picture, in hopes that someone who will be able to help just didn't see my earlier post! Maybe simply noone knows, in which case, ignore.

And this one is in hopes that someone is better at sexing then I am, and can tell by a pic. The snake was sold to me as a male...I have my doubts

Looks like a male to me, though IMHO it is easier to sex from the side of the tail than from the venter.

Interesting, I didn't know that. I'll see if I can't borrow my sisters digital camera again and get one from the side.

It doesn't look like a corn to me. I would guess everglades or yellow rat.

well i recently posted with the same question as you in the rat and corn forums. and from what i've learned and pictures i've seen it looks like its you have an everglades ratsnake there. im having trouble seeing but if it has a petternless head it is not a pure corn.(i may be wrong, and it may have some yellow ratsnake in it because from what i've heard they have been known to intergrade)
