Need help with adult Carpet and back problem

Kevin Ray Jul 06, 2003 09:50 PM

I have a female Queensland that is about 9ft in length. I have no idea of her age, but do know she is a provrn breeder. About a quarter down she gets kinked up and cant sraighten out on her own. She will move her head forward and when she gets to the spot she jerks back very hard. I can take her outside and strech her out and she moves fine with no problems, therefor I do not believe it is broke. After she lays still it come back. It is really hard to explain. There is no visable bumps or anything that looks abnormal. I can not feel anything in her either. She has not shed nor ate for a while and I am getting a ittle worried. She was fine when she was cooled and bred but never ovulted or had any signs she was gravid. I would like any advice or ideas from anyone that may hve an idea. Again this is hard to explain, if anyone can help and has questions please feel free to ask. Thanks

Kevin

P.S. A vet visit is pretty well out of the question. There is none within a decent distance and I dont want to put her through the stress of traveling.

Well honestly I think the vet is your best bet. I'm nto going to even speculate what could be wrong with her but if she can't move well and is not eating, you need to take her into an expert!

As for 'stressing' her by traveling...We're not talking about a chamelion here! If you put her in a large file box(with a sturdy bottom so as to support her back) and she should be fine for several hours. And honestly if she's far enough gone that a trip to the vet kills her, then there is no hope for her anyway. Sad but true....
