OKAY really really need to know!!

I have been heating my tanks with red or purple night light heat lamps. I have heard this will not effect gecko's because they can't see the spectrum. I have also heard overhead heating is not good for digestion/general gecko life. Is heat tape the best option. temps are about right 88-80 on ground 85-90 by heat source. I also mist them everyday around the glass of the tank is this too much humidity do people use humidity indicators on their setups. MAny Questions can't find in forum. Any help/opinion (nofighting!) would be great. Thanks again for all the answers!

I use a 25 watt red bulb but its mostly for night viewing,if it gets really cold in the house then I use a 40 watt red bulb but for my main heat I use an under tank heater, its left on all the time except in the summer when the temps get to over 80 deg.I have never misted my tanks but my leos spend a good amount of time in their humid hides.
I included a link to a good leo care guide, you can find lots of answers there.

relax.............I myself only use undertank heat pads much easier and cheaper too. As for heat being bad from above i did it for a while with no problem the sun heats everything even in the wild the bottom of your tank will be warmed from that light just like a rock in nature would hold some of the suns heat
