What is the smallest male that has "fathered" a clutch before. Not just mated but the female actually laid eggs.

ya that is the true test is if any of the females produce from that male. I have one that was a very picky eater and I am still unsure on if any of his matings will take. the one good thing going for him is that he is now 1 1/2 years old but weighs around 600ish grams(been awhile since I weighed him). He is producing sperm plugs. Have you guys checked yours to see if they are producing sperm plugs?

the one good thing I have to say is that all this breeding has finally got mine to eat regularly!! guess he is burning off too many calories

He will produce viable offspring at that size and age. Now I have a picky eater albino thats a approaching a year and a half now at 400 grams thats locking up and I'm wondering if they will be any good. He's a mouse eater and only 1 a month at that...... Sorry, I don't have any pic's uploaded of him yet....

My opinion is if they are willing to hook up and you can pop sperm out of them than it is probably viable (they my not be the best swimmers yet, so don't spread him thin, give him 8 - 10 lockups with each girl).....

When I bought my het orange ghost he was 424g and producing sperm plugs but since he had a rough year before I got him I didn't use him this year. By breeding time though he was up to the 500-600g range and probably would have been fine.

I have a Male Spider that is about 7 months old, and about 385 grams. He does produce sperm plugs, and has locked up with every female I put in with him (4 females). I only put small females in with him around 1800 grams.
