I've looked up stuff about catching and keeping various animals in california, and well, it's all very complicated stuff so I thought post some questions. I live in the sierra's and I was interested in some of the local kingsnakes, if I understand what I read you can catch one cal. mountain kingsnake and keep it if you have a fishing licence, but you are not allowed to keep any more then that or to breed unless you have an educational permit, and then you arn't allowed to sell them. I guess my main question here is, that's all correct right? They have exceptions like the common cali kings.
Are there any laws against keeping and breeding and selling kingsnakes that don't originate from cali, like grey banded? Also, if the captive bred snakes ancestry begins in another state like Texas, do you still have to follow texas laws in any way?
