Getting a temp. new addition at end of summer....

HelloOooO Everyone!!

Jus me again!
And of course you know, here goes another question!!

My friend from work has asked me if i would Lizard sit her Leo (Geiko) for her while she was away at college. Of course I said yes, how could I resist the cute little thing!! And yes I have already done all my research so I will know how to care for him. But what I was wondering is if he and my Agama would get along if I were to take them both out and let them run around together??!!

Now I have to say my Agama is quite a bit smaller than the Leo, he is a chubby rather large male of about a year old.

And Gypsy, my agama, (as most of you prolly know and have seen the pics) is still rather small!! (I am begging to wonder if she is gonna grow..lol) I am gonna attach a pic of her so you all can get a better idea of her size....Buddy1900 estimated her to be around 6 months of age back in december. Tell me if you think that she is at an average size for her age, now approx. 8 months... And mainly if it is safe to let both my agama and the Leo romp together??? I dont want too see no blood baths!!
Thanks as always!! ~§¢hîZm§gr£~

The more I look at Gypsy the more I wonder if she is an agama agama. Might have to go to the judges on this one. I have never really seen one that young so maybe that is the difference in the coloration, but she might be another type of agama. If she is an agama agama, then yes, quite young and you probably have her age right.

As for letting them play together, I think the emphasis should be on not leaving them alone together. I'm quite rebelious from the mainstream who say you can never put different types of lizards together. I've actually housed different types together with absolutely no problems for years. There are exceptions though, and that is why I say you have to watch them, Particularly if you say the gecko is larger. My wife has a leopard lizard, not a leopard gecko, this is like a little crocodile but covered in leopard spots. I should post a pic, duh. Anyway, this leopard lizard will NOT allow any other lizard in her tank! lol. I put the larger agama, larger than the leopard lizard in there just to see what would happen, and the leopard lizard took the agama into a death roll. She is the most beautiful thing but man, is she vicious when she wants to be. And I got one of my worst lizard bites ever while trying to feed her one time. My point being, that encounter caught me off guard, especially since the agama was larger. Sure, put them together outside the tanks, but watch for that lunge that might happen and be ready to get in the middle of it. But in most cases, they will get along fine.

to me to be an agama agama(redhead) I said I thought Gypsy was a Toad Headed Agama

I still think so, based just on her size and body shape. Shes old enough if a redhead to be looking larger and longer/streamlined in the body.

Her coloring also is different in my opinion. Gypsy's body is short and chunky like a toad heads.

Sorry kido but I still go with that, hehehehehe ! The only other thing I would say is possibly green agama, Acanthocerus atricollis.
