Among other things, I've noticed that my male veiled seems to get "stuck" in a position for hours, and if the lights go out, he ends up sleeping that way. The more I read the more I think it may be a vitamin deficiency... I am using Repti-Vite 2 x's a week and t-rex Ca once a week. Is there a better vitamin source? I am feeding him meal worms gut-loaded on carrots, spinach & wheat bran (tried a number of other vitamin-filled veggies & they don't touch them). I am also starting to feed him with silk worms again (his favorite) which are only fed the worm chow. He won't eat any greens other than the hibiscus plant, and he steers clear of any fruits I've tried to give him. He also has tongue problems, much like those mentioned in other posts.
now for the basics:
He's in a screen cage (16x16x36", he's small for his 11 months) with vines, plants & branches all over the place. He has an automatic mister that goes off every hour for 45 seconds during the day & he gets misted 4-8 cups of water every morning. He's got a 100W heat light & a Repti-sun 5.0 light that is less than 6 months old. The humidity stays around 50-70% & the temp ranges from 100 at the hottest basking site to 65 at the coolest part of the cage. He's most likely inbred, so that might play a roll in all of this. Did I miss anything?
Thanks!!
