She is my first leopard gecko and I rescued her on sunday. (will post a pic later) I am not certain it is a she as it is not comfortable with me yet but she let me hold her and look at her belly once and I did not see Hemipenal bulges or a V-shaped row pores so I am guessing its a she. She is 4 years old and the day after I rescued her from certain death was already eating like mad, which from what the local reptile store told me is vary rare when an adult leo changes homes. The previous owners said she never ate more then 3-5 crickets every other day but since I got her it's been 10 . Actually, she seems to want more and continues stalking around the aquarium looking for crickets in nooks and crannies.

Which brings me to my concern. All the care sheets I have been reading online give varying amounts to feed an adult, anywhere from 5 to as many as it can eat in 15 minutes. I just want to make sure I am not feeding her way too much here. Another thing, would temps that are way too high cause her her to eat less? The old owners had no thermometers or thermostat in the aquarium and ran a heat lamp/heatpad combo. When I turn on the heat pad alone the substrate gets to be about 106 and even higher with the lamp. My thermostat from big apple will be here tomorrow to regulate the pad but I have been doing it manually in the mean time. Thanks for any insights you can give (^_^).
