question for anyone interested...

well, a while back i think it was flamedcrestie who suggested that the herpetology club im in here at nc state make some reptile and amphibian calendars to sell as a fund-raiser for the club. a few of you also mentioned that if i made a uroplatus calendar that you would buy one. i hope im not breaking the rules by posting something like this here, but given the following circumstances, i hope its alright to offer it to you guys here.

i am totally willing to put together a uroplatus 2005 calendar, the only thing is it won't work as far as the club goes. we really dont want to go online and take other peoples' pictures if we would be selling them as a fund raiser, so this is what i thought...i've only got 4 species of uroplatus, and a whole calendar of 4 species wouldn't be right....if there are any of you that would like to "donate" a picture for a calendar, i could probably actually make a uroplatus calendar. right now we sit at 11 described species and 2 subspecies of sikorae, which makes 12 total which is PERFECT for a 12 month calendar. i have phantasticus, pietschmanni, henkeli, and sikorae sikorae, which means i would need donated pics of every other species. granted i have near zero chance of finding original pics of malama, malahelo, and alluaudi, but someone out there might have some guentheri pics to donate. we'll see how that all works out and all....

how much? well, i would only be doing this for the fellow uroplatus freaks around this here forum. im not looking to make a profit from these at all, seriously...all it would cost for anyone is what its going to cost me to print them out at kinkos, which i think is in the range of $10 to $15, and shipping which shouldnt be much. once again, no profit, not even to the herpetology club...we'll have other calendars we make to sell to the NCSU student body for that aspect. it's just that some of you showed interest in it, and i would like a uroplatus calendar myself, so i figured we should have a uroplatus calendar. dont know for sure if it will fall through or not, but we'll see how it plays out, if its even "legal" for me to "advertise" this offer on here (sorry if im doing something wrong eve!!). anhow, just wanted to throw that at you guys and see if anyone has any comments or suggestions.

in the case i cant make any contacts for pics of the much rarer species, im not sure what to do, only thing i can think of is to give it a try at drawing them, but i dont think that would fit quite right so theres a chance we might need to have a couple of the same species under different months. so let me know what your thoughts are, and hopefully before long we'll have our very own uroplatus calendars to show off to friends and family with OUR OWN ANIMALS!!!

many frog/lizard calendars i have seen double up on species in the same calendar. with just about any species there's so much variation that i don't think it would be a problem to have 2 of the same species. also, what's your email?

you can send me email by clicking on my name here in the forums, which automatically sends my email to my normal inbox. anyway, that would be:

I don't think there would be a problem with putting a few photos of different colored/pattern of U.phantasticus and U.ebenaui and there are several different colored U.henkeli/sikorae out there. I know that it would be awsome to have some nice clouded U.henkeli/sikorae in there. I'd be interested in buying on.
