yea below i had a question about my beardie trying to get out of her cage constantly and someone said she may be laying eggs. Well she laid one egg, unfertile since shes by herself. Well now that im looking there is more in her tummy. should i put a box full of moist dirt in her cage? or will she just lay the rest of tem in the open? Also is it normal when they do this to eat less, i nthe past few days she hasnt eaten as much as usaal.

She still has eggs. Even if the eggs are infertile, some moist dirt may prompt her to lay. Keep her well fed and give her lots of calcium.

well she hasnt been eating as much the past 3 days, and her supdrate isnt very deep, should i fill a box with a moist suptrate in it?

It is normal for them to go off feed a few days before egglaying. She will be very hungry after she drops the rest of them.

I use opsoil from home depot. A bag costs like $2.00. If its a fresh bag, you wont even need to add water. I usually fill a cardboard box w/dirt, lightly pack it down so it wont collapse, and cut off one of the sides and the top flaps. This three sided box allows her dig a tunnel in which to deposit the eggs, and provides you with an easy way to remove them from the cage.
