Gioni kingsnake

ehartwig Feb 10, 2005 04:39 PM

Hi its been awhile since I've been on this board, but I ran across a 6 month old Gioni mountain kingsnake I was wondering if anyone had any info. on this perticular breed. I've had a cal. king for about 6 yrs. now and she's huge and doing great. This one is new to me, but its coloration is absolutely awesome so I had to get it. Any help would be great and helpful thanks in advance.

Eric

You bought a snake labeled as a "goini mountain kingsnake"? If so, you've got a hybrid. "Goini" are a type of king found in a small area in the panhandle of FL. Mountain Kings are found out west, nowhere even near the range of "goini". Do you have any pictures of the snake?

first of all the spelling is Goini not Gioni, and as far as mountain? maybe Sandhill or Gator mound.LOL cool beans post a pic. Chris.............

Sorry about the spelling. I'll try to get a pic up early next week. Its base color is black with a copper stripe down each side, not a prodominent stripe, and copper specks on each scale. Thats as close as I can describe it without a pic. Thanks
