well if he isnt tame then id say the first thing to do (as well as the best thing in my opinion) would be to tame him. other than that just read the posts and ask questions. you may think that a question is dumb but im sure you would rather ask a dumb question than let your snake die because you didnt. actually there are no dumb questions...just dumb people.
From what i have gathered in the forums the temps on your warm side should be between 85F and 90F with the cool side being around 75F.humidity should be between 50-60%. some people will say to include a hide box but if you use a substrate like mine (reptibark) then you will find that they are happy with burying themselves into the substrate and will ignore the hide completely.
there are no real tips on feeding. just do what you can to get him to eat and stick to whatever works. if the only way that you can get him to eat is to feed him f/t mice or ratpups from tongs while sitting in your underwear with the lights turned off, playing Barry White tunes and mooing like a cow, well then thats what your gonna have to do.

good luck and hope you both have many years together.

Check out Pro Exotic's website. They have some good info on blood
husbandry.I have 2 adult bloods and one sub adult.I have had
great success (problem free) with my serpents, and basically
use the husbandry methods they advise.Blood pythons are amazing
and unique creatures and deserve the best care as do all animals.
Have fun with your new love!
sincerely,
Jered
