Yet another heat tape question

BRYAN139 Feb 10, 2005 08:02 PM

How do I go about or can I wire multiple sections of heat tape together? I have a guess but I'm not sure. Does this look right?

You need to wire the heat tape in parallel not in series. This link will show how to do it.

Say I took a piece of 11" flexwatt and cut it in half so instead of a 1 foot piece I had 2 6" pieces. Can I still use it as long as it's enough to heat the tub or does it have to be the 1 foot sections? Do I screw it up if I cut across the middle?

No, the 11" stuff has to stay in the 12" sections.

I think I'm good to go. I'll post some pictures when I'm done and if I think of anymore questions I'll let you know.
