Stripe/Jungle Statistics

WaxWormFan Jul 07, 2003 01:31 AM

I outcrossed my jungles and stripes to bell albinos (banded) this year. I observed about a 25% rate of hatching jungles or stripes from these pairings (2x the number of jungles).

Just an interesting bit of information for anyone else working with jungles/stripes. I'd love to hear statistics from anyone else as well.

For people breeding jungle x jungle and not getting all jungles, what are you getting? any stripes?

For people breeding stripe x stripe what are you getting?

Stripe x Jungle?

Stripe x Normal?

Jungle x Normal?

Experiences with aberrant leos, either tail or body?

Albino stripes and jungles will be next season, but I do have a whole lot of normal stripes and jungles. My stripe to stripe breeding hatched out about 25% fully striped (body and tail) babies, 50% either striped w/banded/jungled tail or vise versa, another 5% totally aberrant, and 20% normal. My jungle to jungle breeding had similar results with a couple coming out with varrying degrees of stripes on either the body or tail.

from my stripe x stripe breeding, out of the first five eggs i have gotten and hatched all have been fully striped , body and tail. i have four more eggs in the incubator and my female has eggs in her right now. so,thus far i have had 100% fully striped babies from stripe x stripe parents. both parents are fully stripe body and tail as well.

this is eenie, one from the first clutch hacthed, kelli hammack has her clutchmate. incubated female

this is toughy the only male (well temp sexed male) i have hatched so far, this guy is going to Josh (btw Josh, ima bring him to daytona with me =o),best have an enclosure ready heheh)

and this being one of the temp sexed females from my latest clutch, this is ashley her sibling is mary kate LOL

I have one adult male tremper jungle albino (curently MIA ;_
I have 2 'abberant' females. And 3 banded.

Out of about 10 hatchlings from the albino male in that group, only the one abberant female had abberant babies. Two of her babies had broken neck rings, one had a circleback, one had an 'L' formed from one of her bands. The mother was what I called a 'saddleback' She had two of her bands connecting on her back that reminded me of a saddle.

None of the babies had broken tail patterns tho. Just abberants tossed from the abberant mother. She's a big healthy breeder too, lol
