boys ignoring girls

The two groups I got lots of fertile eggs from last year have both thrown only blanks so far this year. I think I made a big mistake keeping them together all year instead of separating the males at the end of the season. The females seem to be holding the eggs longer than last year and then laying duds.

I swiched out the males, for a few weeks but no change, so now I've seperated them completely from the females into cooler single containers.

My question is, how long do you think it may take for "the heart to grow fonder"? I know many breeders separate and cool at the end of the season to allow for regeneration and relaxation. All seem to be in peak shape though.

I don't want to lose the whole season, many are holding eggs now.

Any ideas?

I have had a problem alot like yours in the past, I am not sure of the cause, but when one of my males shed i took a strip of his shed skin and with hemos i let my other male get a taste-smell of the other males skin and he went crazy trying to kill it and the went straight to getting busy................ who knows worked for my leos, I have as of yet never seperated my leos for any long length of time.

Jealousy could work, and nobody has to get hurt! Now I just need someone to shed and I'll give it a try!! Nice to know that you've never kept them apart and still had success.

Thanks,
John
