Hi every one. I was wondering what every one has named their GTP. I've been stumped on what to name my baby Jayapura. Any suggestions would be very helpful!

I would name it according to some of the traits and characteristics it gets after it matures, that way it is easyer to differentiate from the rest and keep good pedigree on it. of course, the name is up to the owner. LOL. Just an early morning though.

Thanks! I thought about it after I posted that then it came to me. Since it is a baby and still nippy when picked up I decided on Pandoria (atleast till its two and I figure out for sure what it is).

My chondro is the only python that I have, the rest are colubrids, so i named him Monty. Monty the python.
I was thinking of naming him caligula or claudius (roman emporers) based on his personality, but I liked Monty a lot better.
When I got him, he was named pedro. I know a guy whose friends get drunk and like to name his snakes. Drunk people come up with the best names, if you're not looking for anything in particular!

I feel that names should not only reflect the demeanor of the animal, but make the snake more approachable and personable for the wary. For people who are scared of snakes, a nice name can disarm them some, help them look at the snake as the lovely little animal it is, not a big scary alien.
My first kingsnake (depending on whether it's male or female) will be named Miles or Sophie. If I ever get a male hognose, he'll be Wilbur.
Of course names can have hidden or obscure meanings. Miles is the name of a short and hyper hero in an epic sci fi space opera. Sophie is after Alta Sophia, a long standing cathedral and translates into "higher learning". And if I ever get a female scrub and name her Rose, well, that's after an insane goddess (though not evil) in a Stephen King novel.
