Question about Spikes...

chibicricket Feb 11, 2005 07:24 PM

My iguana's spikes on his back never grew very big. Someone once told me that only the dominant males grow large spikes, which I'm not so sure is true. Maybe I did something wrong? Just curious.

From posts that you have made it seems that you take very good care of your big guy. I'm not sure about the dominant male thing being the cause, my best guess would be genetics. Have you ever noticed that some perfectly healthy igs have "drabber" colors that others? It's probable just a genetic thing that is commom to iguanas to his natural locality. I personally wouldn't worry about it, so keep up the great work you've done with him!
