my beardie is a little over two months old...I have a reptisun 5.0 bulb within the correct range of the tank, for the correct amount of hours...I have been dusting crix with reptocal...but wanted to know exactly how often to do so, a little confusing since it is said that if given repcal they don't need the uvb/uva light...so why would they need repcal if they have the light...he's doing great and getting huge...also, how do you measure the beardie?? from the nose to end of tail, or from nose to base od tail??

You should dust at almost every feeding for juvies and gravid females and 3-4 times a week for adults. Even if you have a UV bulb, you should still dust with calcium w/vit D. I use repcal w/vit D. Measurement is usually SVL (snout to vent length). This is more accurate since many beardeds have lost their tail tips.

I'd reccomend dusting the crix 1-2 times a week (depending how many you feed it [>20/day i'd go with 1-2 times a week] [

Everyday for babies.

Every other day for juvies.

Once a week for adults.

All the time for gravid females!

The best combination seems to be using UVB lights in conjunction with Calcium supplementation.

You can measure your beardie any way you want, its just good to specify how you are measuring. Some people measure the Snout to Vent length (SVL) and others beasure total body length (TBL)
