How do you guys feed your Uroplatus? Natural or antiseptic vivariums? Also what do you feed and how often? :D

I fed mine crickets, grasshoppers and cockroaches, all on dishes exept the grasshoppers for natural explanation, they wouldnt stay there And i fed all my Uros every other or third day.
I also kept them i natural vivariums with alot of living plants and corkbark backgrounds.

Thanks much, Im fairly new to this genus and just have a few specific points like these I want to hammer out, Im trying to get mine used to dishes.. the satanics adjusted immediately to it, my lineatus seem pretty disinterested all around (hoping theyre just getting acclimated) and Ive tried All three methods. Im also keeping mine in naturalistic enclosures with live plants, bamboo of applicable thickness and cocofiber mats covering the back walls.

Try to use bigger dishes, i noticed that my sikoares became somewhat distracted when there where a lot of crickets on a small dish and it almost looked like they had problems of focusing on one "target". It all got solved by presenting the food items on a bigger dish where the crickets wouldnt sit packed together side by side. Some of the crickets, cockroaches and grasshoppers also escaped the dishes and gave the uros a more natural chance to hunt so i guess that works too.

Otherwise your terrarium sounds great for Lineatus, how big is it, Uros really benefit being kept in a tall terrarium.

Thanks much, i will definitelky try that out, I have some feeding dishes that are abouyt 5 inches across, i will give them a try tomorrow night when I give it another shot. The terrarium i have my lineatus in is about 42 inches tall, which is a little short from what Ive read of this species, but I will remedy that as soon as I have them acclimated and feeding well,Id hate to stress them out even more so soon after shipping by tossing them in a whole new enclosure. I have it set up with coco fiber mats along the back wall, and a large ficus plant as a central element with 6 pieces of bamboo arranged in various ways to cricc cross and each other and also climb the coners vertically.

Sounds great, one last advice...since Uros arent able to store nutrient (fat) in their tale as most other geckos can they really benefit from feeding small amounts of food on a more regular basis. For example feed them every otherday with about three-four crickets per night, thats about what i gave mine.
Since you just recieved them, it is probably just a bit of stress that is making them not wanting to eat im sure it will turn around.

Good Luck
