Mountain King RI?

LouEvil Feb 11, 2005 11:24 PM

I have a hatchling Chihuahua Mt. King and while cleaning its cage today I noticed a slight clicking noise when it breathed...also after observing it for a few minutes, I witnessed it open its mouth a couple times almost as if it were yawning. The snake eats fine and is in good health as far as I know, the temps are correct in its cage (I am keeping it with a 72-80 thermal gradient)....could this be a possible respiratory infection?

If they are getting ready to shed they will sometimes start making a popping sound because their nostrils get clogged by the skin about to be shed. 80 degrees is a little on the cool side. Even mountain kings want to get warmer for short periods of time. I would raise the hot side to at least 85 degrees.
