What are the possibilities-impossibilities that the goini/blotched/apalachicola/chipola/meansi is ONLY a LOCALITY of L.g.getula??? And not a intergrade of L.g.floridana-L.g.getula, ANY and ALL comments are welcome.

If that were the case MtDNA analysis would have been more similar, perhaps even continuous, to that of the nominant form. I've not seen the specifics of the study (or even sure I'd understand the data if I had) but that differences showed up indicates isolation for a significant period of time. I think the real question is what the parent forms of getula are? For instance did both easterns and goini radiate out of ancestrial stock from what is now south FL? There are those that feel enough genetic evidence exists to trace these lineages but I'm not so sure. Establishing relationship seems credible to me but figuring out which came first requires significant application of opinion and imagination. Still these are fun questions to ponder.
Maybe our fun questions will have fun answers someday,I'd like to see the DNA evidence, Thanks.
