Iguana Diet

MikeT66 Feb 12, 2005 08:05 AM

Would like to know what type of fruits are good for an Iguana. Right now he is getting a good diet of greens (Collard, Mustard, Turnip) but would like to start introducing some fruit into his diet. What types are good for a Ig and how do you prepare it. I really appreciate the help. This forum is the best.

A lot of fruits are good. Strawberries, grapes, raspberries, kiwi, mango, melon, etc.. I would pretty much stay away from bananas and citrus fruits. Bananas always give my ig digestive problems, and citrus fruits are too acidic.

My Ozzy likes cantalope, strawberrys, blueberrys, raspberrys, and blackberries. These seem to be his favorites. As far as how to prepare them, that partly depends on how big your iggy is. But in general i just cut them up in bite size pieces. Hope that helps. Tami
