I have a female that when I checked on her a few days ago, she seemed really fat compaired to what she has been, and she has stayed thay way for the last few days. How long does ovulation last and what does it look like, some pics would be great. I have been putting a male in with her every few days for the last two months and she has been breeding every time including about a week ago. She is getting big for some reason I would just like to know why.

This is my first year breeding, but what you are describing sounds like ovulation from everything I have seen and read and watched on the Seward breeding video. There was a thread about ovulation in the main ball forum about 2 weeks ago with good pics, you should do a search. Good luck!

Ovulation is unmistakable. Your female will "build up" over a few weeks getting larger, until she has huge mid-body swelling, which could last for as many as two days, or as short as 12 hours. This is her releasing her developed follicles down into her ovaducts to be fertilized by the males sperm. Expect a shed in the next ~20 days or so, and then eggs ~30 days after that. Congratulations.
