Hello to everyone out here in cyberspace, I am new to posting on this forum, but a long time reader. I have truly enjoyed reading all the advice you have given on this site and had many luaghs from some of the truly outrageous advice people leave. Mr. Carmichael I truly have learned alot from the posts you make on here. I have been keeping reptiles and aquatic life for the past 21 years I have been alive but never realized how much I did not know about reptiles, you have helped me a great deal in the past year that I have been reading this board, and I think I speak for most of the users here when I say thank you for your sound advice. CUrrently I keep 0.1 african rock python, 1.0 ball python, 1.0 leapord gecko, 1 son, a wife, 0.2 cats, and many fish. I hope to get to know all of you much better in the near future and possibly help others out here that need advice. It is a pleasure to make this introduction to all of you.
Sincerely,
Joseph Clayton

Nice to have another person on board....sounds like you can offer a lot to this forum. Also, thanks for your nice comments; I do appreciate them very much.

My involvement on this forum is going to diminish greatly in the very near future due to my curatorial role at my wildlife center, contributing to a herp book, field research, being a family man (whic is NUMERO UNO), and my inolvement as both a college professor and baseball coach (not to mention my own home collection of reptiles). Sometimes, we need to prioritize our life and although I enjoy this forum, it is not one of my high priorities (I imagine a few of you are already celebrating!). If anyone needs to reach me, email me directly and please don't expect an immediate answer due to a very busy schedule coming up.

Take care everyone,
Rob Carmichael

Rob...I'm sure that I speak for most when I say that your posts will be greatly missed. I have just recently begun posting on this forum, but have been reading the posts here for quite some time. I can't thank you enough for the knowledge that you have given me through the reading of your posts. You willingly and selflessly gave up knowledge that you had to work years in order to obtain, simply in the hopes that someone would just take it to heart and provide a healthy, happy life for the reptiles that you (and hopefully, they)love so much. I just wanted you to know that it wasn't all in vain....I for one, as I'm sure countless others have benefited greatly from the time you took to reply to questions on this forum. I wish you the very best in your endeavors, and again.....Thanks for everything!

Jeff

Ditto from me Rob. You'll be missed. Stop in when you get a minute or too.

Well then Mr. Carmichael I will truly miss the great knowledge you have shared with us, and I wish you the best of luck with all that you do. I myself understand how hard it is to have a family, take on multiple jobs, and try to find time to help others with your advice. It is great to see someone who has all of this going on in his life and still making his family number one in his life, you are truly an inspiration to us all.
Sincerely,
Joseph Clayton

Well, sorry you're going. Good reasons of course. Guess it will give me some motivation to "archive dive" a bit. Thanks for all you've done, and I'll look for that book you recommended "Snakes, the Keeper and the Kept".

I appreciate the many emails of encouragement I received and in time, I am sure I will be able to pop back on a more regular basis (and, I will try to see if I can sneak on every now and then and stir things up a bit. Like I said, if anyone has questions or needs advice on a particular matter, just email me at: robertcarmichael@comcast.net and I will happily answer your questions. Just realize, due to my schedule and several upcoming speaking engagements at various herp symposiums, that I might not get back to you right away.

Cheers, Rob

when I was a kid. Awesome read. Is it still in print? Have you seen copies anywhere?

Brett

I haven't seen it. I suspect it's out of print, but I checked with Amazon.com and they have a few used copies.
