I have posted before about these problems which I am quite sure is breeding season behavior, but I have a question again. My ig is approximately 3 years old. He has been orange in coloration, not eating much, not "pooping" much, and acting strange (trying to get out of his cage all the time) for about 2.5 months now. He is also attacking various things through the cage (my dogs mostly and very very rarely he attacks at me) By attacking I mean he jumps at the object outside of the cage and runs into the cage. He has gotten several small cuts on his nose from this behavior. He also bloodied his mouth once!! I have put a blanket around his cage when he gets really bad. Is this normal breeding behavior for an ig that is usually very calm? I am assuming so. I am just worried about how he is cutting his nose up. However, I do not trust him to take him out of his cage alot now. He is being a true "JERK" LOL....Is there anything else I can do to calm him down so he doesn't cut his nose up anymore besides putting a blanket around his cage?
