Exo-terra bend-a-vine dangerous?

jeffreypeacock Feb 12, 2005 02:36 PM

I purchased a "fine twisted" bend-a-vine for my cham, except the problem is it has a lot of debri. It comes off real easily, and as a matter of fact as I was placing it in the cage i got little black pieces all over the cage and floor that was from the vine. I'm afraid it will rub its eye against it and get something caught. Anyone else have exerpience with this brand of vine? Or should I return it.

I am not really impressed with any of the "bend-a-vine" type products. I think the Fluker’s brand holds together the best though. It doesn’t have little granules like the exo-terra brand.

not sure which brand I have - maybe exo-terra. I had the same concerns when I first got it, though it wasn't too bad. What I did was to rub it briskly with my hands to knock off most of the loose stuff then ran some coarse sand paper over it to smooth any sharp points. I didn't sand it down, just a few swipes. No probelems since and it is still in her cage. Just a suggestion.
