Incubating temp and time period!

eve_scotland Feb 12, 2005 02:44 PM

Hi everyone! I am incubating my eggs at 82 for females, i was just wondering what is a safe temp to move up 2 for "brighter" leo's? Should the temp be put up after 3 weeks? Once the sex has been set? And also - at 82 what length of time b4 hatch , and if the temp is increased does the hatch time decrease?

Many thanx

raising temps after its been at 82 for 2-3 weeks is risking alot, it can cause the embryo to die, or the baby to hatch out with some pretty bad deformaties, keep it at 82 and when the baby hatches, give it a hot spot at 90*f and it wont be as dark

besides ..if your doing this with normals it really wont mattaer anyways

40 to 50 days at that temperature. 90 takes 30 to 40 days.
