Sleepy eyes?

JEFFREH Feb 12, 2005 06:38 PM

Hope yall don't mind, I'm going to be flushing out EVERY Q i can possibly think of for you guys. Aren't you so excited!?!

K, well, yes. During the day when my crestie sleeps, the crests kinda sink down some and cover a bit of his eye. And along with that it looks like his eyes get fogged up kinda. My friend says his crestie doesn't do that and that mines sick or something.

I don't believe him because I told him everything he knows about cresties. He doesnt have computer access or any books. But he said he read in a magazine they get some fungus or something. Doesnt sound right to me...hes kinda the type to lie about this sorta thing but just wanted to be sure. My Spike ahs been doing it his entire life.

Thanks in advance!

well you're friend was most likely wrong, it's normal for the crested gecko's eyes to sink in and for its "eyelashes" to slightly cover the eyes, the pupil constricts in the light (just like your own) only its nearly 99% closed during the day, thats most likely the "clouding" you're seeing.

LOL!!

Your friend sounds like he/she needs to do some research.

Cresteds eyes do sink into their heads while sleeping and their "eyelashes" droop. It's perfectly normal and they all do it.

all you'd have to do is wake it up once while he's over, they're eyes will almost immediately pop out and their pupils will show up. i've done it more than once when i thought one looked dehydrated or unhealthy for a minute.
