How early can you tell the sex of a Green Basilisk?

sacredpurr Feb 13, 2005 06:35 AM

Hi I am looking to get another and I have a two year old I think is a girl. By now do you think I would know? And if I do indeed have a female, when do they start to form their crest. Because I would like to get a male. Thanks

At age 2 you definitely know. The crests start growing between month 6 an 9, depending on setup.
With a lot of experience you can distinguish the growing plume of the males from the differently shaped bud of the female babies as early as at motnh 3. But you need magnifying glasses for that.
