This is kinda funny. The first time I fed a pinky to a monitor I felt sorry for the pinky. I imagine that is normal for a animal lover.

The first time I ever went hunting I felt bad for the dove, squirrel, deer, groundhog, etc. Eating meat is a part of life (for most normal people). The mice are bred to be feeders, just like cows are bred for slaughter. I did feel kinda bad the first time I took cows to the stock market also. But when I sit down to a nice steak dinner, I feel great.

As long as when we (monitor keeepers) die and go to heaven and God is not a mouse or cricket, we should be ok.

Remember PETA stands for People for the Eating of Tasty Animals. (thanks to whoever came up with that).

I guess I will be slamed if there are any PETA members or Politally Correct people that check this forum.

I felt pretty bad for the first time feeding my monitor, i was tempted to buy stuff and just have a pet mouse. But then i put him in the cage and saw my monitor bite it's head off and heard the bones break, and it was awesome. Now I buy them and immediately get ready for the slaughter.. Sorry if this was a post that grosses you out but I find the feeding of my monitor to be interested.

i've been keeping herps since i was like 3 years old, back then i fed(or my dad fed) pinkys. i used to keep snakes and little lizards and geckos that ate pinkys but since i dont remember the first time i fed a pinky and while i was growing up i fed pinkys i dont really feel to bad about it. no my female argus feeds on a large mouse nearly everyday.

Yeah man, wtc? Why don't u just put them in a meat griner? At least u won't have to see the guts in their entirty.. haha I have a water dragon that's too small to eat any type of mice so I just keep him on a cricket/mealworm diet right now. I'll probably end up cutting the mice to pieces also, but that's because I enjoy it(looking to become a mortician)! haha yummy

I do hope its a thawed out pinky, for mercy's sake...

And if you are feeding F/T, here's a tip to make it less gross...chop them up while still frozen. It cuts way easier, and no squishy mess. Leave it on the tray to thaw a bit before feeding. Cutting up a frozen one will feel less like cutting into an animal to you, being rock hard and all.

hmm sounds like a good idea, but i guess it would be a bad idea to let it thaw in warm water if i cut it up firs?
