I am intrigued by Cresteds-questions

M n R-Reptile Feb 13, 2005 11:54 AM

I have little to no knowledge on the crested morphs.
I have seen flames that look uglier than regular cresteds yet sell for more, and I have seen some really really nice flames, but everything else is a "what is that" to me.
Is there any websites I can go and read about crested morphs and how they combine genetically speaking?
And for example what makes one flame worth more than another, and some pinstripe? worth more than others type of things.
Any info appreciated.

go to www.acreptiles.com he's got some of the best cresteds to date and he's starting to show the parents to the offspring he's selling. also gives a description of different morphs he's working with. they're no certain explanation as to why or how their genetics work quite yet, wait 4 or 5 years and i'm sure a few people will have figured a few out for sure.
as for pricing, people are asking whatever they can get. if someone is interested in pinstripes, they will pay more for it. it's more of a selective breeding process to get certain traits to show up so it takes more time and more blood related work ( which equals a lot more time) to get what you're looking for.
if someone goes through 4 or 5 generations to get what they're looking for, it's going to cost a lot more.
also, brighter = more attractive=more money.
