ok here it is took to vet clean bill of health and got it to eat F/T great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no prob there now the q it is going into shed and i need to know appx how many times a year an adult king sheds??

Congrats. By the way, kingsnakes are not fussy about frozen/thawed food for the most part.

About the sheds - he will shed as much as he needs to. Young snakes usually shed more, and older snakes shed fewer times. He may shed 4-6 times a year or more. Just make sure to leave him be when his eyes are cloudy (in the shed process.)

It all depends on how much the snake is growing. My adults usually shed every other month. Although my cal king has started shedding every month again, looks like he is trying to catch up on food from this last winter. Eats like a horse and is growing pretty fast!! He is 3 years old and probably close to 48" and still growing!! I will take some new pics tonight of him. Until then, here is an old pic of him......

Glad to hear your king is eating well and appears healthy.
Was the clean bill of health from your vet just based on a physical exam? Did he do a fecal exam for parasites?
If not, I'd bring your vet a fresh fecal sample. I'd be really suprised to hear that an adult WC king that's been gulping down copperheads is free of parasites.
